When I see
that smile,
I'm lifted through
clouds,
When I see
those eyes dance,
I get entranced,
lost in the headlight glare.
just a speck
on the lens of time.
A fine hair,
there for a single frame,
then blown away,
in the cool night air.
When I see
those lips
start to part.
A jolt,
a lightning bolt
straight to the heart.
I'm brought back
to life again.
A zombie risen
from the grave,
Frankenstein’s monster
slouching
in the pouring rain.
When I see
your face,
beaming with joy
I am raised
by the
beauty
of it all,
but if a sad tear
should fall,
I would
collapse
like a broken
crumbling
stone wall.
