Clowns pt 3

I called you clowns before
but that is unfair to clowns for sure
they wouldn't see the funny side
of people starving because benefits were disqualified

They wouldn't see us with no food to eat
no bed to lay our head, in these frozen streets
They wouldn't build a home for their geese
whilst we struggle to find a home to lease

They wouldn't try to divide us, conspire to ignite hate
they would never supply weapons to enemies at the gate
they wouldn't build bombs and guns to put us in fear
those are only the actions of racketeers

They wouldn't burn money in the street
to show a homeless person, who should be feared
they wouldn't do any of this stuff
because they are human, not monsters acting tough

Clowns may look a bit silly this I grant
but not as bad as May doing her dance
or Reese Mogg who was born years too late
with these in charge what future can we await

Weird?

Who are you to call me weird? think me a freak
whilst you sheepishly follow the herd and bleat
who made you the judge, are you really that vain?
is your life so mundane, what do you hope to gain?

If life is so perfect, then why show such fear
what scares you so? the differences on show? why the sneer?
Is it the smile I wear, the fact that I wont take the bait?
or is it just that you cant relate?

If you open your mind, you may find a wild ride
a world with so many wonder filled, magic moments inside
difference should be welcomed, with arms wide open
so why should we want any of this to be broken?

Small minded world view, only see the same as you
missing so many adventures, a story brand new
this world will stand united, not divided by hurtful lies
So keep trying to make us fall, we will always rise

As we hear the calls, the love for all
we will break a path through the walls
as we reach our goals, the future a dazzling prize
blinding like the sun, the differences washed from our eyes

Indivisible

Try to divide us, we will rise
hand in hand, side by side
now is the age of unity
forget differences, see the beauty

You try to make us hate, pull us apart
but we stand proud, hands on heart
with your bigoted hate fuelled lies
you're a dinosaur,  we are the comet that flies

Where you see an enemy, I only see artistry
in the things around me
where the world doesn't fit your view
that isn't our problem, it sits firmly with you

The things you don't understand, are wrong in your eyes
but you are missing out on this life's greatest prize
the charm and wonder, the cultures that shine on
the love that we dine on, the future a bright one

Try to fill us with hate, the enemy at the gate
yet the only adversary to peace is this sorry state
boundaries, borders, walls and armed forces
set to stop us from seeing all the life that courses

Peace and love are not just words to be spat
they are a way of life, we give hope as a welcome mat
This world is ours, to share, so just be aware
hate will always be defeated by those who care

Bring your hate to our doors, we will fall no more
our collective hearts may bleed, but the love is pure
these lands, a playground, the earths vast expanse
a place for all to dance, so lose the hate and take a chance

Feed the rich

Feed the rich, sorry no scraps for the poor
enjoy the gruel, what do you mean you want more?
half the wealth in a handful of peoples coffers
whilst the rest of us search for those low price offers

A population on its knees, whilst these thieves live like kings
enjoying the fruits of our blood, sweat and tears, it stings
always trying to make the pennies count
when pay day is a week away with an empty bank account

The prices rise, whats the freddo increased to now?
whilst wages stagnate they want more somehow
a tax on your life, cant afford to be poor
attacks the lowest earners, it somehow costs more

Make believe money, made up numbers, banks got us worried
none of it is real, but without the paper it has us buried
they have it made, if it all falls apart
we will bail them out, give them a fresh start

A common thread

A common thread, this shared home
Earth on loan, not owned
belongs to one and all
those who came before, those yet to be born

Rich or poor, nothing that matters, not like a heart bared
material worth, worth less than a smile shared
a rich being with no love can go sour in the blink of an eye
a struggling soul can give all they own and not even sigh

Different walks of life, just trying to find
their places in time, differences of the mind
no reason to fight
live in distrust or run in fright

For a second, lets just stop
take a moment, breathe, feel the stresses drop
the air fills the lungs, deep inside
all need to feed, breathe, drink, live, enjoy the ride

Maybe keep it clean, don't fill it with stuff that causes ills
whilst we are here lets sort out oil spills
fix the world a step at a time, give the love it deserves
instead of fighting over its dwindling reserves

Earths resources not a prize for war
shared human right, who gives power to those on the top floor
to own it all and make us go out and bleed
the only fight we need, against this power play for greed

Not so different you and me, him or her
The people connected, a worldwide collective
just want to get on, belong, be part of the song
peace and love for everyone

The System

Join the masses
belong to your classes
don't think for yourself
be a clone, its good for your health

Follow the leaders
question nothing, the world hates readers
keep paying your dues
whilst the richest refuse

Laugh on demand, they know better jokes
prod at the things they poke
follow blindly in the herd
your words will never be heard

Cry when you are told
run when they say, don't be bold
jump at command
follow the system, don't ever take a stand

Never take pride, you don't deserve
just join the other sheep, forever to serve
don't get ill, you cant afford
to lose your place in the endless march forward

Unwritten

The story unwritten, the pages sit empty
so many sheets ripped up, thrown away like confetti
ink blotted where jotted sketched words come from the brain
nothing flows right, the ink spills but the words refrain

The story still to write, its sweetest embrace always the next
each day a new line in the book, a fairytale text
to play in time a dance of like minds
entranced in a story that they share blind

The story of the day, a drama or a tragic joyride
hopefully not a horror, thriller, serial killer on the side
just a tale as old as time
two hearts colliding to dance in their primes

A fictional dream, a comedy to lighten the tone
a world to create, to make our own
a story fit to leap from the page
to live amongst the greats and share the stage

The final page remains clear
always blank, it speaks of a future yet to appear
unwritten the story doesn't end
just each day ours to mix the perfect blend

Stardust (revised)

Where do we reside, is it inside?
between the bones, behind the eyes, now open wide
in our touches, tastes, the ears, nose and mouth, a work of art
our senses set alive, like a lightning bolt to the heart

Is it within our skin, the fleeting touch of a delicate flower
a tender kiss from a passionate lover
in our heads? the mind alive, thoughts breed and artistry bleeds
or do we float around, outside watching on, just planting the seeds

Flowing through every thought, each tickle and sting
every grin, each grain of sand, smiles seen, every time we sing
we are all and everything, the universe as one
we are consciousness, so please hear our songs

We are stardust, we are the collective
try looking from a new perspective
share the love, give peace a chance
be one with all, join the great universal dance

Living, breathing, thinking, feeling, loving, caring, sharing
no need for pain, a life led despairing
no labels to cause strife, just our part in the great story
our roles to play into history

Peace and love.

Modern World

Shout loud, scream out, we've had enough now
we've been betrayed, words broken, world falls down
our thoughts turned blank, forgot whats important
instead focus on celebrity, fame and fortune

BBC, ITV, SKY, CNN, FOX
news tells us who to follow, who to block
Sun, Mirror, Times, Mail
choose the narrative, who wins who fails

Trump can clear a room, with his poisonous views
in a tweet he blames the news fake or true
everything is the fault of immigrants, lets build a wall
no quicker way to see a country fall, the news will have a ball

A rich man in a mask, pretends to care about the masses
as long as everyone pays taxes
playing at being important, you really are a gas
nah, fuck it, Trump, you really are an ass

Boris a hit with the press, he gets enough column room
for being a buffoon, a complete loon
Hunt I have only one rhyme for you, so apt
but this is a family page so lets just leave it at that

May goes frolicking in the hay, whilst our country falls to bits
our NHS is crumbling, social care, the pits
housing for the poor? nah more chance of another war
but the country is strong and stable she swore

Israeli bombs fall on innocent folk
just a land grab, a joke
hundreds of rockets for one rock thrown
disproportionate use of force shown

yet we demonise a man who wants peace
will speak to both sides, to find compromise
apparently the guy is a joke, though from what I can see
this sorry state, the modern world, isn't funny to me

Victims of the system

Gunshots shatter this cool night
another light shot out, lost the fight
the calm smashed like a dropped glass
as the sirens blare, blasting out en masse

Victims of the system
when no one listens, a blade often glistens
when there is no hope, no money, no futures
any shock that our country is flowing into the sewers?

A tattered state, a bloodstained shirt
the poor always the first to lose the fight, so much hurt
crime the only way, to get a pay day, until it stops dead
and we end with another life lost, tears shed

Will we learn our lessons?
give the young a chance, hear their message, beat the depression
let them live with dreams, to be worthy, a life to be lived
rather than the screams for mercy, of the deprived

Cardboard city Spoken word

So this is something a little different, i have been out and about in the real world connecting with a lot of very talented spoken word poets, and am planning on doing some live performances in the future, so thought id have a semi test run type thing.... it is by no means finished, it is pretty much the first time i have ever spoke my words out loud so very rough, but it is a proof of concept!

Hope you enjoy.

Welcome to paradise

Welcome to paradise, land of the free
free from what, exactly?
hell on earth, a prison cell, in a new land
a welcoming party for the damned

Detaining children, a cage as a welcome
no shiny life, no happy times, just a cell as a hotel room
families split over fear of change, world superpower?
a country born of immigration yet all you do is cower
A stolen childhood sets a precedent, Mr president
when the world grows to distrust and resent
you breed what you fear
those children grow more hatred with every shed tear

Sat in cages, like animals in a zoo
do you feel proud of the flag, when this is what it leads to
is it a crime to want better, a life lived in peace
yet you turn up your nose, send in the police

Tears flow, a river wept at the border zone
children left in cells alone
lives torn apart, for wanting to be a part
seeing the children with broken hearts

Cardboard city

In this cardboard city, the cold bitter nights get to me
the hate I fight daily, as if id choose this willingly
to live like a king isn't what I pray, just warmth, and peace
away from these maddening streets, the abusive feet

Down here I watch on, as you walk past
no care in your eyes, as they dart away fast
you talk aloud as if i don't speak your language
telling everyone that were just taking advantage

As the cold bites my toes, socks wet through
all I want is food, a room, a chance to make do
a job would be nice, to earn enough to find some peace
but not for the likes of me, when your address is "the streets"

Sat in a puddle of urine, its not my own, its obscene
a kid with a phone screen, pointing at me to make a scene
I've seen others bloodied, beaten just for life's shortfalls
we beg for help, a kind word, but no one hears our call

some fall to drugs, drink anything to escape, a release
to pass the day, to get away, to find some peace
a few bad turns and its you in this place, scraping to survive
just a chance is all we beg, to build a life and thrive

Circus is in town

Some things never change, criminals always reign
con artist freak show, as they scream too and fro, insane
tell us they care about the fates of others
then drop bombs to prove their love

A world built on lies, they cheat and steal our lives
corruption runs deep, like cockroaches they always survive
power and greed, not peoples needs, their true campaign
the circus is in town, the clowns are back again

Same old lies, lines untrue, told to instill a fear in you
doesn't matter which side you fall for, all they want will come true
all deceive, only ever want more
power, greed, the clowns have the floor

Built on a myth, a belief in better
that things can change, just like the weather
a man, suited, says to love thy neighbour
just not that one, he is our enemy, he is out of favour

All over the trigger fingers twitch, ready for war
it boosts profits, see how they soar
the clowns have the stage
their smiles hide a lustful rage

Oil, money, the weapons market, a power struggle to fill their pockets
piggy banks fill, not enough to help the ill, yet enough to buy rockets
as innocents die, killed, a loss in all sense
the clowns have the mic again

Health service cutting costs, stopping medication
too costly to serve to our nation
yet department of defence goes on the attack
at any cost, all seems out of whack

Kyle.

War drums

Same old names, playing games, calling for our men, women, sons, daughters
the war drums are pounding loud again
a destiny of death, hate and heartbreak, led to the slaughter
how can we be saved?

We are on our knees, asking dont bring this down on us
we need peace, a life without this bloodshed
end our call to arms, stop the alarms, we could try to discuss
evade a date with the barrel of a gun, try talking instead

They want us to fight to our last breath, never asking what we feel
their blood will be spared, they are prepared, they are safe and secure
they live just fine, whilst you and i kneel
tow the line, fight for peace, drop a bomb of democracy,  no saviour

A game to them played, a move on the global chessboard
our lives the pieces, never matters if we break
millions more to replace, easy for our warlords
we need a calming voice, hint of sense, press the brake

Something in the air, makes me sick
rockets missiles, weapons that destroy isles
so much firepower, they are itching to use
pull the trigger, light the fuse

We bear the brunt
no regard for our fates
we get burnt
who is going to save us before its too late?

Fallout

The thunderous cloud erupts out and looms
deadly, deathly silence after the deafening boom
dust brings an end to our days, we try to flee
as it comes down, falls like petals from a tree

The fall out warnings ring out
no hope for us now
if we survive this plight the days will feel like nights
lives forever changed, cards marked, humanities last rites

Bodies vaporised in an heartbeat
nothing left to see, but an xray burned into the street
mankind, mother natures still birth, never learn
all we leave is a scorched earth, as we watch it burn

End of days, caused by mans desire
we like to bring hurt, we play with fire
this time it burnt us whole
this world lost control

Radiation sickness eats away at its victims
didn't bring this on themselves, just going about business
no winners all losers. the day we split the atom
we became gods, instead of good we turned it to a weapon

Our kind will survive in part
but at what cost? so many lost hearts
so many dearly departed, no tales of glory
just regression into a cave dwellers story

Mutually assured destruction, madness to me
id rather food upon the table, a safer place to be
to change this negative for good
lets stop now before we are all worm food

Room with a view

Sat by the window, watch as life flies past
see as the world moves, like time, so fast
the ebb and flow of our waves on the land
the men and women hand in hand

Sat here watching, as the tide of people abound
crowd races by, as if time had run out
lost in their worlds, no time to stop and take note
miss the finer things, this place, so much to promote

Sat here in this room, a bar with a view
the faces rushing by seem so stressed, as they push through
constantly on the go, never a second to look inside
to find their own minds, to live, enjoy the ride

So much more than this, a word containing so many gifts
Art, music, passion and love, so many reasons to exist
affairs of the heart, of the mind, ways to unwind, so much more
if you just stop, look around, a whole planet to adore

Clowns

The bells fall silent, news at ten told us
London called out its warning, nobody cared much
land of the rich, sick and diseased, on its knees
too many lies, to hide its dark side, it deceived

Seat of our nation
a place of great deprivation
they don't speak for you or me
only believe in their greed

Corridors of power hold so many ghosts
they want us to cower and believe their oaths
as they steal food right from the tables
of innocent people, it is disgraceful

Clowns in power, like hyperactive children
shouting, blaring and fighting, its mayhem
nothing gets done, nothing to help our causes
if they cant increase their wealth there are always clauses

Always on the brink of war, a money maker for sure
itching to send out our poor
to fight others who could be like brothers
they sit and count the gold coming in, as we suffer

Our health service, being ripped apart
by people who don't have an heart
a disservice to the people who make it work no help from above
the nurses and staff who give their all, with love

This land could still be great, if we found our soul
give some love, break down these old walls
for one and all, learn to give and share
not rich versus poor, just need to care

As the bells chime once again,  our capital awakens
illuminated by the sunrise of a new day, its intoxicating
a chance to make a change, our people deserve more
a chance to start fresh and be happy and pure

Snowdrift

Icy snow drifts from on high
setting a blanket, cold bright white
A chill wind bites the skin
bringing tears so sharp they sting

An old man, alone and frightened
can only pray the sun does brighten
no heat to help him clear
no love to save him, through this bitter cold, so severe

A strong breeze, temperature drops many degrees
catches the breath, pain in the chest, this deep freeze
Trudge onwards towards warmth, many cant, the flight desperate
their hearts cannot take this, helpless

Shivering masses huddle together
cuddle up against the weather
a community of souls
consumed by the cutting cold

The night, lit up by the snow cover
gives the air a magical colour
but underneath the delights the gorgeous sights
is a deathly cold that bites

Shattered hearts crack into shards
the cold takes hold and disregards
brings pain to all it touches, each snowflake a curse
making so many lives worse

Cant afford to warm their homes
cant seem to warm their bones
just sit in hope
to them this weather is no joke

As I fear the air grows clear
another ice tear falls near
takes hold of so many lives
makes them dread their plights

Spare a thought

Alone cold, these streets under the houses of power
a man dies, no one to care or share his final hour
the misery and plight he fought every fight
to gets some peace a bite to eat, with one last breath he took flight

Beneath a blanket of stars, nowhere to call home, died under parliaments glare
as the rich elite walked past, never glancing back, not a care
big ben struck midnight on his last gasp, a last chance to save a life
another injustice against us the public, no care for our strife

Out of sight out of mind is the way they react, deal with it another day
brush it away, pretend that all is okay, bus them away
put barriers in the way of sleep, this doestnt keep them off the street
stops you seeing them there, stops you having to care, a deciet

The shame, this country is wealthy, it is healthy
but it is broken and built on lies, a failure to humanity
a land of neglect and hate has been bred
we deserve more, a land of hope, our money spent to heal not a new warhead

Where is the compassion, a call for action
a blemish on our nation, we are made to beg for mercy, we are fed distractions
A plea, lets make this a land of belief
not in fairy tales, but in our peoples relief

A place where help is given, no questions asked
where the leaders care rather than turn their backs
lets show that enough is enough
live with respect and love

Dont lay blame anywhere but here,
this is caused by a lack of care
the only blame sits at the feet of those who lead
who decide if we get to feed

So spare some change, a change of minds
lets come together as people and open the blinds
lets do some good its about time
to do any less is a crime
