The pulsing, blurring light
in the distance,
like far away stars,
or embers
of a fading dream.
We welcomed you in.
A fairytale of our creation.
A red hooded fiction,
twisting
and morphing
into our world of never were's,
could be's, would be's,
dripping molten liquid thoughts
into our warping vision of reality.
We felt the growing elation,
the tides of an ocean,
pulling and pushing
deep into our emotions,
like Goldilocks had entered
our unlocked minds,
pulled up a seat,
decided it wasn't the right size,
and rummaged through
until she found the right fit.
Then devoured our emotional feast.
A fairytale of our own imagining,
but who is the beast?
And what are they dining on?
Fireflies of fleeting fantasy,
flip past my eyes,
like lanes of traffic
darting through future skies.
I sit, reminisce for a bit
about where I've been
and who I was,
where I'm going
and at what cost.
Some would say
let your hair down mate,
but Rapunzel shows
this doesn't always lead
to a happy fate.
So, I'll sit in my lonesome tower
and wait.
Who knows in this fairytale world,
anything goes,
maybe a princess will kiss her frog.
All I know is that the future will glow.
