As the shades come down
over the windows
of my conscious mind,
I slip into the
subconscious space
that lays just behind.
I see a glimmer of a face.
Just a shimmer as it fades
into my dreams, a panorama
all created from
that one single image
emblazoned over
closed eyes
and lovelorn sighs.
Beautiful, she
sits watching
as the world flits past.
A picture of paradise.
I'm laying paralysed,
a spell cast on tired eyes.
Magic words that enthral,
enchantment
mixed with perfume
lingers in the air, it calls.
If she clicked her fingers
I would fall.
Scent of flowers,
entangle my thoughts.
A bouquet of beauty.
I'm lost in the laughter caught
in her eyes
and the tears that sometimes hide.
Across the dreamworld,
a metamorphosis,
as the hills
become valleys, rivers
endlessly flowing over
landscapes of mystery.
Which I stroll between
as happy as anywhere in reality.
She has a name that is whispered,
it echoes around my dream chamber.
It seeps into every ember, into every atom,
and every pore of the sleep world
where she is adored.
Adorned in the finest
silks you could wear.
She slips like a feather
through the air,
then fades into a landscape,
A mirage on the screen,
a land of beauty, a weathered
world of dreams.
Where I lay and wait.
For this is the place
where her heart softly beats
and the rhythm soothes me
deeper into sleep.
