Hey there sunshine girl.
Don't it get you down,
glowing all of the time?
Doesn't it hurt to burn so bright?
How can it feel like the state of affairs
is a forest fire? Left to burn unawares
whilst the world seems so cold
and no one seems to care
Does that make you tired?
Does the day just fly by?
Is that why you retire
once the moon enters your skies?
Hey there sunshine girl,
Do you ever feel the urge to just
sit baking the earth for a bit?
To rid the bacteria
that has taken over it?
Do you shed a silent tear
when you see the parasitic beings
tearing strips from the atmosphere?
Do you ever wish to dull your shine,
hide away until a future day
when man has been and gone
and things seem less in decline?
Hey there sunshine girl,
I hope you still see the goodness
which stands apart
from those with blackened
charred hearts.
There are still humans
that can be saved,
Mankind is the many not the few
and we look up to you with shielded eyes
protecting our view,
to witness the glory of you.
Hey there sunshine girl.
Will you hold the flame I burn for you?
Will you put it close to heart?
Never let it sift like dust into the air.
Can you tame the animal that howls inside?
The one that growls at the dark world
and it's uncaring few.
Can I give all of my trust to you?
Will you light my path with your stardust,
be my star born love?
Will you watch me from up above
as I follow the path
along which you lead me?
