I fell like
an autumn leaf,
landing at your feet.
Just a single lone leaf,
amongst the stones
and concrete.
You knelt down,
delicately taking me in.
You held me close.
I could sense the perfume
on your perfect skin.
Like the first
sprinkling snowfall
I called
when the angels
sung a lilting
song of winter,
I landed across
the patio floor,
and you made
a new man of me,
but the loving heat
started a thaw.
As I melted for you,
you walked through
a different door.
Like a flower starting to bloom
I spent spring
cleaning my gloom,
I started bouncing
when I walked
into a room,
whereas before
I'd have sunk
into a whirlpool of doom.
I felt reborn,
I'd started to grow stronger
in winters womb.
Stumbling no longer
I started to walk again,
like a lamb finding his feet.
In the summer heat
I heard my words returning to greet.
They warmed my heart
and restarted it's beat.
I ventured into the countryside
to see magic worlds that inspire.
I felt alive
like the suns unquenchable fire,
and I realised
that with the
love of the sky
I'll never tire.
