A room with a view,
all I ever wanted was you.
I feel the delirium
start to settle in,
just as the
hallucinations
start to walk through.
Am I out of my mind?
I'm walking
blind into a minefield
and I'm stumbling
over my own feet,
Shoelaces untied.
Stripped of my safety blanket,
I'm just here alone
in this field of decay.
No time to delay,
The visions swirl
and the world
is going down the drain
Plug it up I say
to myself in this
field of yesterday.
You wanted the crown
from this penniless king.
This destitute throne
of worthlessness,
and the pain that it brings.
This empty Palace
of lonely dreams.
I only ever wanted you.
The delirious view,
shifts back
to my room with a view.
The fog from breath
on cold windowpane.
The worn seats.
A tear falls
from my eye like rain
I feel the wheels
trundle by,
as I sigh,
all ever wanted was you, I cry
but you were bad news for me,
a taste of poisoned chemistry.
and in my room with a view,
I start to feel
a little more sane,
as the nurses,
check my vitals again.
