Don't put me in box.
It really ticks me off
when you try to tune
my life to the ticking of
arbitrary clocks.
Don't tell me to walk
in another's footsteps,
a clone is all you'll get,
let me walk
my own path instead.
I'm not someone that walks
the road that most do,
I'll crawl through the shrubs
and bushes
to find the path if I need to.
Don't put me in a box,
a cage,
where anyone can see
me gentle rocking
back and forward.
Put me instead,
on a page.
Don't try to make me
fit your view.
I'm an abstract
in a photographic landscape,
but I always follow my truth
and I'll climb out
through that landscape
for any good that it will do.
