Could you sing
a lullaby
to the sad sky?
to let it know
that it will be alright.
Shatter the hurt
into a thousand pieces.
Scatter them
like fairy dust
into the morose night.
The bad times
will fly by,
so let it know
that every cloud
has a sliver of beauty
to let the sun
shine out.
Could you sing a lullaby
to the forlorn whys,
the tear-stained sighs,
that float around tonight?
Could you sing
to make every
doubt filled cry,
see the invisible liars,
through perceptive eyes?
Could you sing
something good?
Let the vocal hug.
flood this
cold room
with warmth.
Could you sing a lullaby
and watch as the words
twirl through the sky?
Dancing through
the twinkling stars,
surfing the atmospheric waves,
before crashing back
into our hearts.
Could you sing a lullaby?
But not to say goodbye,
more a way of saying hi,
as we slip
into our dreams tonight
to share the wondrous
mystical flight.
