The deafening silence
has teeth.
It eats away
at your heart.
You can never
find the words
because your words
mean nothing
to stone deaf ears,
they have already
decide your fate
and sentenced
you to hell
for years.
No amount
of words
will break through
walls built
to deflect truth.
So, you bite your tongue,
and let the blame wash over you.
letting it sink deep
into every pore,
until you could swear
that their truth is the only
one worth listening to anymore.
They could argue
with an empty room,
but turn the blame around on you.
Not listening to any words
you try to exhale
in between
verbal blizzards of ice-cold fury.
So, silence is all you are left.
and that is met
with a string of lies,
tied into a rope
to hang onto,
but all you can do
is put your head through
and say no more, I tried.
The silence deadening
It makes everything inside
feel like it's withering.
Stinging, aching,
a host of pestering infestations,
nesting in
this rotten festering corpse
of whittled down love,
or what you thought of as love,
but was nothing of the sort.
