Men

Men.

We have always had that innate

need to be better.

Pushing for power

and shoving for position,

fighting and showing our strength.

Lifting weights through grinding teeth

to show our muscles rippling,

but we keep forgetting what is right.

It has nothing to do with power, pain,

nor toxic dominance.

Does this shit need to be policed?

These are not the game.

Find peace by sharing light.

Be more beauty, be less beast.

Men.

We hate to hear women say how we

are the problem with the world today,

but maybe look around you.

Count the amount of jobs

with a man in the top seat.

Look at the amount of crimes

committed by men at a woman's feet.

We need to be better. Let's start small.

That picture you took on you mobile.

Delete it. No one wants to see

what resembles a shrivelled sack

of animal waste castoffs,

Keep it to yourself, unless asked.

It's not hard. No really, it's not.

Men we need to be better.

Next time it's late and you're walking

through the quiet lonely streets,

Here's an idea for you, don't creep.

If a woman is alone, do the right thing

cross the street. We don't realise how

scary we can be, but take it from me,

You are someone

I wouldn't want my eyes to see

in a dark alley. Try to be better.

Now this last one is quite difficult for some

of you to hear. But I'll make it clear.

If a woman says no. Then accept this.

It isn't up for debate. If you are that desperate

to shoot your load, go and masturbate.

It's quite simple carrying on after a 'no' is rape.

And if you have watched on, silently

as a friend has made a woman feel small,

Acted violently or caused any tears to fall.

Or if you have laughed when they

have recounted tales of their twisted views.

Then I have some news. You are just as bad.

It's time to give this subject

the attention it demands.

Shine a light when a friend isn't acting right.

Don't turn a blind eye,

next time it may end up with a lost life,

or a life lived in fear.

and ask yourselves right here, right now.

Are they maybe right,

are we the common enemy?
