Should I still think of you?
That wave of your hair
still creating oceans
across my heart.
The way it flowed through the air,
swishing with the music's intensity.
Cutting the atmosphere
with its slicing motion
like a knife tearing apart
the thin membrane of reality.
Letting outside flow through.
Making my heart swim faster.
Should I still think
of the way
you swayed?
Like a boat on high tide,
over an ocean of lies,
riding every wave,
like a feather
on the winds of time.
The way you
unlocked my heart
and forced
the doorway in.
Embracing the room
as your own
little hideaway.
Should I still think of the summer?
The time spent under the sun of hope.
The autumn kicking leaves
of yesterday into a future unwritten.
Should I think of that winter?
Smitten. Love bites and hot nights.
Cold frost in the morning bringing new insights.
Should I think of spring?
No bouncing back
from words that cut too deep,
stumbling over pavements bleeding.
Should I still think of you?
When I'm sat knowing
that the only answers
you would bring are
the special kind
that only
come
with a sting.
