I stare out
at the sunset skyline
pouring like red wine
across the daytime,
to create a blend
of night and day
from something
seemingly as bleak
as the darkness
landing coldly at my feet.
I stare out at twilight
where the air tastes
fresh and unique.
I want sunbeam daggers
to cut me deep,
penetrate my heart,
and provide it with heat,
to relight the spark,
the glowing embers that
fill my blood with molten love,
to burn the papers,
the pages I've got stored
in my storybook.
I stare at the moonlight,
just after midnight.
The beacon of hope
still shining bright.
I want her to
throw down a rope,
so I can climb
to space again.
A place I've been
when love
sits with me.
I glance at the dawning day
forming on the horizon,
and say
farewell to moonlight
for the rest of the day,
for now, I'll let the sunlight
blind my eyes, knowing
that your vision
is always etched inside.
