When this rollercoaster life streams too fast
and distorted images scream right past,
sometimes all you can do is hold on.
Take the safety bar in your grasp,
and scream out the fear, the doubt,
the nervous energy rushing throughout.
It won't last.
You can get off when the train has stopped,
you can walk again on your own feet,
feel the solid concrete
showing you that everything
is as it should be.
When this waltzer life spins
seemingly out of control,
when all you hear are the haunting sounds
and your own heartbeat pounding out
through your own fragile soul.
You can only sit back,
watch as the world spins around you.
See the colours blend and blur
as you soar around
like a moon orbiting a planet,
orbiting a star.
But when you get out of the car,
everything slips back to normality,
your legs may be wobbly,
your vision a bit hazy,
ears ringing with the music's ferocity,
but it eases quickly,
bringing everything back
into its right frequency.
We all live in this fairground life,
being thrown around by the earth's spin,
whilst being pulled safely back down again
by gravity's stabilising hands.
It can be scary at times,
it can make you feel uncertain,
uncomfortable, but with each spin
you find life more and more
exhilarating. You realise you enjoy
the thrill of the ride,
the highs, as you fly through the air,
the deep dives
into a soul that sits unaware.
If you just hold on,
sit back, breathe deeply,
open your eyes,
see the colours move freely.
Listen to the music more clearly,
let yourself be taken completely.
Then this life will reward you
with so much beauty.
