You are a sight,
sore eyes look down aghast,
because your light
is so powerfully cast.
You shine like a neutron star,
in a cosmos of burnt-out cars,
the estate that our planet navigates,
to show us the galactic fates
if we neglect to heal our scars.
The curses come, words of humans
tearing down
their own counterfeit kingdoms,
because they are so absorbed in
who they are to become,
that they don't see
the beauty in everyone.
You are a delight on
hot teasing nights,
like daylight savings time
severed those drawn out
winter cold fronts,
leaving only warmth behind.
If only we could all see in kind.
The pressures outside
start to oppose,
clashing in thunderous compositions
across the vast green meadows
where feet have danced freely
for centuries.
The storm comes eventually,
a downpour of cleansing rain
to drain the hurt away,
to start the story again.
You are might,
the power you hold inside.
Words stronger
than any weapon in a fight.
You are we,
we see you in the statuesque trees.
Beauty to bring us to our knees.
As the seas start to boil dry,
innocent eyes cry,
rolling tears mixed with a sigh,
How did we ever get to this?
Our questions float high.
When did we see difference
and think enemy?
When did we see difference
and think the only option is violence?
When will these voices be silenced?
Can we take the two ends
make them rebind
and rebuild the world in kind?
