Hey stargazer, she said,
cast your eyes
down from the sky,
gaze for just a second
into mine instead.
See the galaxies
of my mind stretch out
vines to pull yours close,
let it show
the wonders
that only true love
can hold.
Hey stargazer, she whispered,
I want you to see
that dreams can be visited
even when wide awake.
I want to show
the reflections in the lake,
the star glow billowing
over the water below
like a sheet of the finest silk.
We can let thoughts sleep
as we explore the hills,
seeing the city lights
in the distant sky.
Watching them dance,
engaging with the night,
just take my hand
and we will join the flight.
Hey stargazer, what is it you see?
Is it the same as me?
I see the stars aligning
giving a sign. A flame,
speaking my name
flaring in the night-time air.
Tear down your gaze
and look at me.
I will show you the universe,
just hold me with your golden verse,
hold me in your thoughts always.
Hey stargazer, do you see?
The ground is no longer beneath,
we are free to fly,
just you and me
exploding across the galaxy.
Two entwined shooting stars,
drawing lines across the skies
as we kiss away the fears inside.
Hey stargazer, did you know?
Did you suspect?
That in the midnight,
tears were wept, cries to say
how much I'd love to explore with you
this universe of hearts.
To feel the touch of galactic
strands brushing across my skin,
To feel the warmth of your hands
holding me so tight,
never letting me float away.
Hey stargazer, did you always know
how much I loved you?
