Cherubs dating agency

 

In light of recent events,

42 years of events to be precise,

It seems it’s not really worth the price.

So, I would like to cancel

my subscription

to the cupid service.

I've come to the conclusion

that putting my love life

in the hands of babies

with arrows 

may be a mistake

and probably not the wisest choice

I could make.

 

When I signed up,

I was under the impression that

this angel would be choosing

a partner that suited my personality,

and one that I suited equally.

Not firing arrows indiscriminately.

Instead, it seems the babies

wail and cry

then let their arrows fly

into the air

and say "there you go,

I got you one there."

 

I am boycotting cupid.

I find the service distasteful,

if not just a little stupid.

We send babies into the air.

with wings, barely able to crawl,

yet we give them power to fly.

Then we arm them!

Bows and arrows are not toys.

and these arrows

are supposed to bring joy,

to pick my future love.

Seems like a shot in the dark to me

and let's not even mention

the subscription fee!

 

It doesn't seem

to see the red flags,

or just enjoys the torment

of putting me with someone

that wants to tear my heart into rags.

Well, it seems to me

we are asking a lot

of a little cherub

to be able to see

what seeds will bud.

When even us adults pick

the wrong partners in love.
