Misplaced memory

I still see

you

in my dreams,

through

tear

streamed

eyes.

Hazy

shimmered

visions

but only

as I last saw

you last,

so many

moons ago.

A piece of

 my jigsaw past.

Always the child

I knew,

small arms

big hugs.

Heart

only ever

full

of love.

Reliving

memories

that are

not true

because

I never

had

chance

to

share them

with you.

Family

getaways,

days beside

sandcovered

beach.

Always

just outside

my reach,

Watching you play.

Parts of my old DNA,

now just

misplaced memory.
