You smile,
like a politician.
Crooked, mangled grin.
Lies flooding the mouth,
words of poison,
with a vicious sting.
You lie
with every rasped word.
Bend the truth
until reality is blurred.
Slithering serpentine tongue
slides over jagged teeth.
Yellow eyes fixate on me.
Ready to strike.
You hypnotise your prey,
make them
stagger and sway,
like a drunk
on St Patrick's day.
You bait them in,
tail rattling,
like a child's plaything.
You lure them close
with bright looks
that dazzle,
like a poisonous
wild rose,
before
you go to town.
Letting your
wicked jaw
clamp down,
around pulsing throat
and you drain the blood,
taking life and hope.
