The look said more
than any silent words
dripped from honeydew lips
could ever say.
It crawled into my eyes, slipped
into the cracks,
where the soul sat.
It looked deep into the dark
and asked
a silent question,
with an answer
only heard in echoes
on the wind. It asked
"Are you the other half
of this broken heart?"
The look crept
through the cracks
that let the light inside
and it stayed,
building a home in the mind.
With arms held open wide, it asked
"Are you my other side?"
The look etched in my brain,
in my bones, in my very atoms.
Every single grain
of my being.
It spoke in silence.
Its words reverberated
an energy, a wave,
a chemistry, chemically
contained within me.
It asked
"Are you the answer I seek?"
I speak in silent tones.
I let the words flow
in my hormones,
through pheromones.
I let the words speak.
I ask,
"Is it you that I seek?
Are you my other side?
Are you the other half
of this broken heart?"
