Look into the hourglass

Look through

the looking glass,

Do you see

hours pass?

Or all possible

futures amass?

Do you see

time ebbing

forward at a crawl?

Or do you see

possibility call?

Look into

the hourglass,

do you see the grains

trickling fast?

Or do you see

a world of new paths?

Would you

walk with me

where those

routes directed?

Could we

walk slowly?

My legs

are not what they

used to be,

or maybe we could take to wing

and soar above flying

on the winds of solidarity.

Look through

those sun beams,

does the light give you

the urge to run free?

I'll happily walk

with you.

When you see my eyes

do you witness

hope brimming? I look to you

and all possibilities feel true.

I look into your eyes

and see a dream

I want to swim through.

A rose by the lakeside

Across those murky depths I wept,

tears dropped like weights of lead.

They kept on flowing even as I slept.

In ripples upon the deep dark depths

I saw my face, flush red with regret,

in circumspect moments of self-neglect,

I swam in those lakes, of tears that I'd left.

My dreams became unstuck,

like a gown of sleep slipping

Into the moonstruck mucky depths.

Those waters so dark and deep.

I dredged through these fluid thoughts

that wilfully crept through my head whilst

in sleep my tears still wept. Dreams derelict.

Pain rippling the surface

as my body slept through the rain.

To find

a rose

being swept

along the

water’s edge.

That rose,

a reminder of love.

Arrows flew inside

but my heart arose,

to fly so high above.

It beat a rhythm,

to every lonely heart.

Don't feel alone.

It drummed,

there is someone

just waiting

for the right time

to come.

I listened, and realised,

to my surprise

the tears had started to dry from my eyes..

So, like my heart my hope did rise,

singing in sweet, improvised lullabies.

Love will arrive when time decides,

don't fear the way

that future roads may lie.

Tales from the 44A

Join Kyle Coare on his journey,

as he plants seeds of imagination,

take a departure away from the ordinary.

See the world through his warped view.

Feel the love of a smile from a stranger,

See the world's dangers, from the safest of seats.

See the wonders and mystery, explore the wonders of the city after dark.

Explore its streets, you will feel the rumble

under your feet, the heartbeat that lives beneath the concrete.

Take detours, get gridlocked in his headshaped maze,

and see in this world, a place to amaze.

The idea for this collection was concieved whilst I was sat awaiting a bus at my local bus station. A place I'd been visiting a lot, to give me a new environment to write, a chance to listen to my music and to be out of the house for a while.

I originally planned for these poems to be seasoned through a much bigger book (which is due in future, always keep your eyes open)

Gradually I found I'd amassed enough poems for a whole books worth in itself.

so i present, Tales from the 44A

take a seat, and we will be departing soon.

Stone forever unturned

You feel

like coming home

to a room made

of candyfloss

dreams.

I fall Into

your clouds,

Let them

hold onto me.

Insides screaming

in happiness.

My face trying

to mask the glee.

Finding you

is like

looking at

a map,

and the

whole landscape

fades clear,

just

one road appears.

A great big arrow

saying you are here,

with a heart

encircling everything.

Whereas when

I’m in this

world alone,

I can

sometimes feel

somewhat

lost and bereft

like I’ve looked

everywhere

and there I'm left,

a stone

forever

unturned.

Like I’m the

5th member

of a Beatles

tribute band

sat just tapping

my feet

outside the venue,

cap in hand.

Like I'm the understudies

understudy

of the actor who has

a walk on role

in act three

of a one act play.

Like my mind took a walk,

and got itself lost

in my head-shaped maze

The silver bullet seller,

in a movie about vampires.

The fortune teller

when the future

is already known.

A clown at a funeral,

trying to raise laughs

amid the gasps.

Without you here

I sometimes feel

I've fallen into the gaps.
