Decadent skies

I cower under decadent skies.

How can I try to rise,

when I despise the golden lies

you cast down with sunshine eyes?

Have you ever looked

into somebody else’s eyes,

and felt that this is the only world to which

you belong?

Like forever isn't a time,

but forever is a song,

and into them you want to climb.

or to just close your eyes

dream of them,

as everything melts

into a moon shaped fantasy.

If I walk this countryside.

Every inch, every mile.

Will I find that place

where the rest of my heart resides?

I know not its name, but it is sat delicately

in the dream place, where the soul smiles,

and the wind tastes

delicious upon my lips.

I can taste

its syrupy goodness.

Will I find it in the green trees of life?

I have a moon shaped hole inside,

where part of my heart did abide.

Now it beats only half of the time,

leaking blood throughout my rhymes.

It seeps into the words used.

Words like polluted, mistreated. Abused.

A moon shaped sea, the dark depths of misery,

but I can't see. Blinded by the golden tides

flooded my vision,

I need to let my river of tears

wash the waters aside,

before taking on this mission

I hold the remains of that

romantic heart

tghtly within my grasp.

Sat longingly in my palms,

gazing up at eyes.

glazed over with tears

that iced up too fast.

A romantic heart,

with scars

as wide as rivers,

but still love courses

rushing

through those

sandy banks,

It feels you. As you feel it.

So, sit and let the words fill the pit

of your stomach and refuel your tanks.
