Tears fall from angel eyes.

Eyes delve

deep into

the soul,

picking and twisting,

leaving you cold.

Black hair highlighted

with the colour of my heart

bruised, battered, angry blue

like a storm cloud

blowing through.

Anger and rage,

internalised pain

but instead

of finding answers,

you just

bring the rain.

Grey skies, heaven sighs,

tears fall

from angel eyes.

Rain pitter patters

over

sloshing pavement rivers,

Splatter over

the shattered cracks

of the

paving slab faces

staring back.

Your thin smile disguised

as a strand of lightning

illuminating the skies,

Your words forced,

like the rumble of thunder

that calls afterwards.

The sun struggles

to shine through the hazy

grey clouds of yesterday,

It fails

to heat the ground.

These frozen streets

on which icy tears flow.

Where cold feet

walked away

into tomorrow.

The sun struggles

 to evaporate the rain,

to make light of the pain,

it tries in vain

to bring a smile

to

downwardly trained

lips.
