The silent king
sits upon his
ornate throne.
Alone
but for his
sullen shadow.
Alone.
In his
spacious
mind palace.
The walls swirl
with memories.
Heads used to turn,
he thinks.
Now his hopes
are in the dungeons.
The lock and chain clink.
Now heads only roll.
and eyes don't look.
His voice behind a wall,
his words forever stuck.
In this mental
hideaway
his shadow leans over
and in whispered agony
speaks a murmured
trembling word
into deaf ears,
but no more will the king
listen to his fears.
For so long
he had become
a prisoner to the throne.
To the silent role.
To being alone.
No more. He screams.
The silent king no more,
his voice still
weak and hoarse,
but now he has
the strength
to build up to a roar.
He wants to speak,
to let his voice heal the weak.
To let his words do battle
with hate.
Now he has the key,
it's never too late.
He unlocks the dungeons
to let his prisoner words free.
