The rain wastewater
floods gutters,
as he sighs.
Asking for the storm
to rip apart the sky.
In the deluge he feels
his emotions flood.
Endless love.
As his hands reach out
to feel the weight of rain
wash away the pain of doubt.
He looks into your eyes
and sees a lightning strike
like the spark
that set the heavens alight.
Delight as desire
ignites fires that burn bright
before the passionate sound echoes
through the scorched night
Electricity surges through his blood
and in that moment
he feels the drips of rain tug
at his heart, as his thoughts flood.
He feels the pull of gravity
dragging him back to earth.
A moment of rebirth.
Feels the rush of wind
stop. Drops to a still hush
as the silence speaks
the sounds of love.
On his knees
worships
at the altar
of love,
praying for the weather
to never change.
To keep bringing
her energy, to share the storm
when she needs. To feed
on his electricity.
To wash away the hurt
in this loveless city.
