Listen to the tides of moonlight
as waves of midnight
wash over shores of relaxed insight,
but beware,
sometimes the clouds
start to crowd.
A noise that rocks
the heavens on high.
A sound crashes
the rocks so loud.
The sound of hope
gone to die.
The sound of nightmares,
that cracking, splintered, itchy noise,
it creaks through your bones,
through the floorboards.
Scratches at windowpanes
with sharpened claws.
The piercing screams,
that come from nowhere.
The rattlesnake tail in the air.
The sound of despair.
Listen to the late-night silence
absorbed by the thudding
jar of hearts.
The sound of a lie.
A lullaby to lull you to die.
Listen to the creepy chants
repeated, over and over by phantasms
of the lonely lost lover.
The sounds of broken hearts
shattered into a million tiny parts.
Hear the maniacal laughter
of your own thoughts,
an orchestra of madness trying to cause fright.
Turn on the light. It screams. Turn on the light.
See the face that haunts your dreams.
Hear the pained echo of eternal screams.
Hear the pained echo of eternal screams.
Hear the pained echo of eternal screams,
then realise the screams are your own
and your eyes are crying streams.
