I am the babbling brook
in a sedentary universe,
this vast expansive forest,
this slow growing
world of wood.
I am
the flowing
word fluidity.
Liquid verse
spilling through the nooks.
Spraying the damp rocks
where the rooks
come to roost.
I am the hillocks
that rise, teasing
the tempestuous sky.
I am the grass that grows tall.
I am the rainfall that stumbles
over the umbrella leaves.
I am the trees, giving shade
from the sunlight.
I give a space for life
to wander this place, bumbling,
as they embrace the magic
in every breath
they delicately taste.
In this forest I am
the slow aging mosses,
the rocks
that give it a home.
I am the land
beneath the stones
where the insects roam.
I am the soil,
churned
by the worms that toil,
I am the earth
which speeds through space
and on its axis is turned.
I am every atom of being,
every sprinkle
of stardust glittering.
As are you all.
We are all stardust
that long ago did fall.
