I long to walk
in the valley
of the moonlight.
Towards the mountain pass,
towering in the distant haze.
As my gaze is swept
through the swaying
glass of forever days.
Those twin pools of midnight.
Sat shimmering beside
the whispering word
of the lilting breeze.
Where the soul does stay
to hear the delicate chime
of a stream
trickling through times
expanding waterways.
Exploring the undergrowth,
as if it were a dream,
to feel forever close to you.
I long to grow wings.
Fly high over
this beautiful space.
A peaceful embrace
in a stale, empty state.
I'd look in wonder
at the landscape.
I'd see desert sands stretching out,
each grain, glistening
in the moons spectral light.
I'd close my eyes,
listening to the
soft purrs of the night,
and dream sweet dreams
of that beautiful sight.
And under that duvet of darkness,
I'd feel close to perfection,
this creation stands
for something more
than safe haven.
It's a playground,
over which we let our
wings keep beating.
The trees breathing
to fill my lungs. The seas
that leave for me
a song unsung,
kept in a shell
on a long sandy beach.
A place if I reach
I’ll never want to leave.
