All the roads down which I've walked,
screaming from deep in my lungs.
All the storms to which I've talked,
all the songs the songbirds sung.
I wander under midday sun
and amble below midnight moon.
I wander on, wondering if this road
is it the right one?
Will I reach a destination?
Will it all end soon? Has my time been and gone?
An elevation above a river of reflected stars,
Will I see the eyes of the moon swoon
and buckle under weighed down hearts,
or will that river just run and run.
All the ordeals, the travels, the trials
along unreal roads, so surreal, the miles.
I've tried to tiptoe through.
To be unseen, un-noticed, but you noticed me.
You saw the same forests I saw,
in those glimpses of dreams, of truth,
you saw, I'm sure, the same sky
I was looking at before.
When my mind replays memories
and I think of that one golden yesterday,
you see the same images,
so many galaxies away.
Where hearts once opened up
and together they played.
All the oceans
I've witnessed
crashing
before my crying eyes.
The seas I've seen
smashing against the shoreside.
You stood there watching,
somewhere in the sun’s rays.
I sail through in a floaty phase,
through the air, I shimmer and fade.
The sea mist grabs at memories,
swallows them up in the haze.
Tells me to walk on,
create new memories
to replace.
